Manu Raju has been a Washington reporter since 2002, and currently is a senior congressional correspondent for POLITICO. He has worked at The Hill newspaper, Congressional Quarterly and Inside Washington Publishers. Prior to coming to Washington, Raju worked at the local NBC affiliate in Madison, Wis.
Raju has extensively covered national issues dominating Washington and broken major political stories, regularly interviewing House and Senate leaders, prominent lawmakers, presidential candidates and Cabinet officials.
Raju has made regular appearances on radio stations and national TV — including MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, C-SPAN, CBS, ABC, NBC and National Public Radio — to provide analysis on the day’s top political stories.
Raju was part of a team of four POLITICO reporters who won the 2012 Merriman Smith award for excellence in presidential reporting under deadline pressure that was presented at the White House Correspondents Association annual dinner. He has also been awarded for his reporting by the South Asian Journalists Association as well as the Society of Professional Journalists.
